John H. H. Bennett

John H. H. Bennett was born and raised in Austin, Texas.  After graduating from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, he attended Williams College, where he received a B.A. in English and History in 2006, and the University of Virginia School of Law, where he received a J.D. in 2009.  John then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Will Garwood on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2009 and subsequently served as General Counsel to the Honorable Craig Estes for three sessions of the Texas Legislature and then as Committee Director of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Economic Development in the 85th Regular and First Called Sessions.  During and after his work for the Legislature, John practiced law as a civil litigator in Victoria, Texas.

John is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

John is the former President of the St. Andrew’s Episcopal School Alumni Association.  He and his wife have one son.
